Efrain was born in Torreón, Mexico but raised in Chicago, Illinois. He played his collegiate years at East Texas Baptist University. After college, he knew the pathway was coaching and began immediately at age of 22, a couple of organizations that help mold his coaching career were Texans SC, New York Red Bulls and ODP South Texas. Efrain has been coaching at all levels of the game from youth academy to semi-professional and one desire he puts in players hearts and mind regardless of age is to play their soccer with courage, intensity and to enjoy always.
