Reliant powers youth soccer

Reliant powers youth soccer

Reliant is extending its long-standing partnership with RISE Soccer Club to continue providing opportunities for youth soccer players in Houston.

RISE and Reliant teamed up 10 years ago to establish the Reliant Power Program, a financial aid program designed to reduce the economic barriers of playing youth soccer. Through the Power Program, Reliant assists qualified players to cover all or a portion of RISE’s fees.

To date, Reliant’s contributions have eclipsed the $500,000 mark. Those contributions have impacted the lives of youth athletes more profoundly than just on the soccer field. This year, over 40 Power Award recipients will be taking the skills they developed at RISE to compete at the collegiate level and 18 of these athletes are first generation college students. The Reliant logo is proudly displayed on the jerseys of all RISE Soccer Club players and we appreciate their longstanding commitment.

“There are valuable lessons kids can learn about teamwork, health, commitment and perseverance when playing youth sports.” said Leanne Schneider, director of community relations for Reliant.  “At Reliant, we understand that by supporting the RISE Financial Aid program we are helping young athletes reach their fullest potential.”

Reliant gives back to communities across Texas, where many of their employees and customers live and work. In 2020 alone, Reliant donated $4.9 million to over 150 causes and helped thousands of customers facing economic hardship with payment assistance for their electricity bills.

RISE Soccer Club (RISE), a private 501(c)(3) non-profit youth sports club, has served the Houston youth soccer community since 1978. RISE is a full-service soccer club, whose programming serves players of all levels - from recreational to college-bound-in a safe, supportive environment. The club offers soccer programming to youth athletes ages 4-18 regardless of their play-level.

The Fall season kicks-off in August 20 and runs through the December. For more information, visit: www.risesc.org
