A Message from Inez Tenenbaum
Dear Friend:
As the 2008 election year heats up, I'm excited to
introduce you to a new champion for public education in the state of South
Carolina. RISE SC is
an organization dedicated to improving the lives of South Carolinians through
comprehensive and sustained reform of our public education system. Between now
and November, RISE SC will be focusing on engaging the education community in
the electoral process. In 2006, we saw the impact that educators can have when
they stand up and cast their votes for candidates who support public education.
This election year, key legislative match-ups across our state will
determine the future of public education and the success of the reform
initiatives of Superintendent Jim Rex. RISE SC will be working through our public schools
and education advocacy groups to ensure that educators and registered, informed
and participating in their local elections.
I am writing today to ask
that you become a friend of RISE SC and join our
efforts to move public education reform forward in South Carolina. We must
have all the resources we need raised before August 2008 in order to impact the
November elections and ensure legislative support for education reform. By
making a financial contribution, you will help
to provide the support we need to bring about real education reform in South
Carolina.
I hope you will take this opportunity to join the thousands of
South Carolinians supporting this new movement to improve our public schools. I
also encourage you to become a part of the RISE SC Advocacy
Network and make your voice heard beyond Election Day.
Sincerely,
Inez
Tenenbaum
